The earliest card depicting Rich "Goose" Gossage originates from the scarce 1972 Puerto Rican League stickers set. However, the first mainstream card set to include an example of Gossage was the 1973 Topps issue. The identical photo that was used for the Topps card can also be found on the 1973 OPC card of Gossage as well. Subsequently, Gossage would also appear on both Topps and OPC cards produced in conjunction with the 1974 baseball season as well.
