Set Summary Produced in 1888 by Allen & Ginter Tobacco Co. of Richmond, VA One of the very first (and most attractive) tobacco sets First of 3 sets produced by A&G to include baseball players Part of a 50-card set that includes wrestlers, pugilists, etc. Card fronts feature torso-up portraits of players in uniform Player's full name printed below image along with sponsor logo Six of the 10 players in the set were later inducted into HOF Backs list all 50 subjects grouped into seven sports categories Set also features pugilists including John Sullivan and Jack Dempsey Set also includes rifle shooters Annie Oakley and "Buffalo Bill" Cody Card Album (A16) and very rare poster also produced References: 1) Charles (J.C.)
