| Most collectors will agree that the true Rookie Card of Mickey Mantle hails from the mainstream 1951 Bowman baseball set. In addition, Mantle also appears on another 1951 collectible which was produced by the Wheaties cereal company in conjunction with their 8-card premium set produced for that season. Subsequently, a high-number card depicting Mantle was included within the 1952 Topps baseball series and this card remains to this day as the pinnacle of post-war baseball card issues. Mantle would also appear within two other 1952 baseball sets: the Bowman series and the Berk Ross issue. |
