The most popular John Clarkson Rookie Card was produced during the 1887-90 era by Goodwin & Co. for their Old Judge tobacco card set. In addition, Clarkson also appears in another less popular 1887 issue, the Buchner Gold Coin set. Although it is nearly impossible to find, Clarkson did appear in one other 1887 set, the Four Base Hits tobacco series. Subsequently, a Clarkson card was included as part of the 1888 Allen & Ginter set. Finally, another very popular early Clarkson card was included in the 1888-89 Old Judge Cabinets set, once again issued by Goodwin & Co.
